The Alpine Altar, high up a cold, snowy mountain,
A fire burns, the flame, lit by humans just to keep warm.
That is no crime. But then there are millions of others, far away from snowy mountains burning fossil fuels with careless abandon, So, polar ice, once pure and white. Greenhouse gases, rising are now tearing holes in the sky.
Sea levels rise, coasts retreat, weather patterns are never the same,
Depleting the ozone layer, melting the ice, silently setting the stage for destruction.
From mountain tops to ocean shore, Nature’s balance is shaken to its core.
Global warming, a creeping blight, calls for action
